Nail polish remover containing acetone gets rid of nail polish quick and easy. However, acetone is a product which can make your nails dry and brittle so they are not recommended by experts. Women never really thought that those lovely nail polish bottles on nail polish racks could be that difficult to remove. Removers without nail polish do the job but they take longer time.

Well, there are now ways of removing nail polish quicker without the harmful effects on nails. One way of removing old nail polish is to apply a new coat of polish. Put a thick coat on each nail one at a time and wipe immediately after applying the coat. This will also remove the old nail polish. This is easy to do and it does not cost a lot of money.

Another cheap alternative is rubbing alcohol. Most people have this in their homes. Rubbing alcohol also does not contain any harsh chemicals which can affect the nails. Just put rubbing alcohol on a cotton ball and scrub like you would do with nail polish remover.

I have encountered a number of people asking me what is a natural way to remove nail polish and through some research, the following are two natural ways to remove nail polish that I happen to come across.  Nail polish can also be removed through softening. Immerse your nails in hot water for 15 minutes and gently scrape the polish off once they are soft. Make sure to test the water first before you immerse your hands to avoid burns. Make sure that the temperature is tolerable for you.

For the second method used to remove nail polish, vinegar and citrus fruits can also be used. The acidic content will break nail polish down and make it very easy to wipe it off. Just put a small amount of vinegar in a bowl. Add any citric fruit like lemon or orange and mix it with the vinegar. Dip a cotton ball in the mixture and wipe it on your fingernails. Removing nail polish through this process may take longer compared to conventional nail polish but this safe and all natural.

Nail polish bottles look very good when displayed on acrylic nail polish racks but consider how the time they require to be removed.
