How to Wear Your Leather Messenger Bag

A tongue in cheek look at the art of wearing your leather messenger bag.

Darling, you just have to wear your bag in the right way otherwise it’s going to just not cut it down the high street.  Imagine walking down the street, only to be stared at by everyone thinking that you have lost the plot.

1) Are you a man, or a woman?  Women should wear their messenger bag high up on their shoulder just like a handbag.  Make sure that you add some beads or costume jewellery to the strap and at key point.  Glue on rhinestones are the best to give a little shizzam!

Men on the other hand should wear the bag low slung.  I am not talking around your kneecaps, that’s just crazy-talk.  Instead you should be wearing it around about your bottom, slightly slung back.

2) Don’t overload it.  Do you remember your school days when your mum sent you packing with a bag full of books and your lunch?  Over pack your leather messenger bag and you might as well go back to being a little kid in shorts.  Oh, so you LIKE being a little kid in shorts?  Well each to their own I guess…

3) You don’t have to be a road bike cycling message carrier to own a leather messenger bag!  If you are going to look down at your legs and see hair, or orange peel, and think that you could never carry off a bag like this then think again.  Those lads and ladies who pump up and down the streets in their skinny shorts might have the most shapely legs on the planet, but they are not you, and you will never be them.  But if they were the only one’s to by leather bags then you might as well kiss your Gucci behind goodbye – bag makers wouldn’t bother with the likes of you honey if they didn’t supply other people too!  Instead, be proud of what you have.  Don’t look down, look up.  And if you get your bag out and wear it loud, no one will be looking at your legs anyway.

So wear your bag in the right place – low for men, high for women.

Don’t stuff it.  Stuffing is for turkeys and chickens

And don’t wait until you have the perfect legs.  Most people don’t have cycle messenger legs.  Just buy it and wear it proud!
