Eternity rings have always been popular gives and they are great for nearly any occasion from birthdays to anniversaries and even Christmas or other special occasions. You can also just give them as a surprise gift to someone you really like and want to know how you feel. These types of rings are symbols of an everlasting friendship or love. One of the most popular uses for these rings is as gifts that precede an engagement ring. This is a symbol of deep love without a ready commitment for marriage.
Eternity rings are bands that are completely circled with stones. The stones most often used are diamonds but you are not limited to these very expensive gems when you are selecting your eternity ring. You can also buy them, or have them specially made, with other precious gems like emeralds or rubies. Many people elect to use other stones like Turquoise and amber, even mixing these stones with precious stones to accent and enhance the glow of the ring.
These rings, simply because of the sheer number of stones, are much more expensive than say a solitaire of the same gem weight. The jeweler has much more work to do when they are setting multiple stones and this is reflected on the price. Also, with a full eternity ring you will have to use smaller stones. They are sometimes uncomfortable to wear and the cost of the rings pretty much rule out daily wear for fear of damage or lose. If you are buying a full eternity ring it is a good idea to consider purchasing insurance. Most jewelers offer some type of jewelry insurance that covers damage to the ring. If you also want to insure your ring against lose or theft however you will need to go to a private insurance company.
