Pavements greatly enhance the overall look of a compound, and add much aesthetic appeal. But ail the same, paving is a complex exercise that requires one to plan and prepare themselves adequately. By preparing oneself in good time, they are likely to end up with a good job done, and they can budget and plan for everything accurately.
When planning, the trick is to do so and plan an area so that one knows what will be required, and what amount of cash will be needed. In this regard, planning is not all about looking at the area, but also making that area suitable and ready for being paved. This could clear the place, and getting rid of materials that would hinder paving. It is always advisable for one to consider that some of the pavers will get broken between the time they are purchased, and they time they are going to be used. This is to say that if possible, one should allow 5% more of the total number to cater for breakages. It is always better to remain with a few unused pavers, than running short of them just as you are about to complete paving.
One should not use sand as filler for leveling the ground. This is because sand has been found to cause uneven pavements once they are complete. Also, caution must be ensured when paving, and this calls for one using eye protection for instance, when using machines to cut pavers. However, one may have to use brick saws for cutting some pavers. A compactor can be used to compact the sand once the pavers have been put in place.
One thing to be always considered is the fact that the base determines the end result of paving. Time and effort should be spent on the base of the pavement.

The 4 inch ones are about twice as much, but at Lowe’s the other day the 4×8×16 solid blocks were only 1.68 compared to .88 for the 2×8×16, and the extra strength and height would certainly be worth it.
