Interior decorators train to coordinate furnishings around the home.  They know the importance of unique accessories and how they enhance the simplest decor.  It does not take but one unique conversation piece on a dining room or living room table.  Accented with a complimenting area rug, a simple design will seem quite modern with its own character.

Lighting is another aspect of the illusion that gives a home ambiance.  Lighting can make a difference in several forms such as:

1. Recessed
2. Wall Sconces
3. Lamps
4. Chandeliers
5. Ceiling Fixtures
6. Track

These options come in all sorts of varieties.  Rooms appear bigger when lighting refects mirrors.  A small room will have the illusion of being twice the size.  Mirrors also come in an assortment of variations.

Most people have at least a couple of mirrors in the home.  One is going to be located in the bathroom whereas the other is probably located in the bedroom.  Most are probably over the dresser as this is the common place to have it.  Traditionally people either had a full body length, or floor mirror.  Nowadays wall options are more common than anything although many people like traditonal and they are popular as well.  When it comes to floor accents creative options are more commonly used today.

Wall to wall carpet may still be used alot, but with the increased use of hardwood, large area rugs are more preferred.  Nothing makes a statement like a large red rug in the middle of a room.  Stone or travertine tiles are often the choices made in hardware stores.  They are also foyer and kitchen preferences second to more expensive options like marble in the foyer of course.  Once the larger accents are decided upon, smaller home accents will complete the process.  This is where plants, pictures, figurines and other addtions come into play.
