Use of votive candles is gaining in popularity and more and more stores are selling them. Online stores are plentiful and with a little searching many different types of specialty candles can be found. If you have a plan that needs a certain of candle that is out of the mainstream do a little searching online and you will be surprised by the assortment you can find. Very creative people are out there, it just takes some time to discover all of them.

Votive candles and votive candle holders fit the decorating plans for many formal dinners and because they are small they fit in nicely on almost any size table and if the table is larger than multiple candles can be grouped together to achieve any effect you want. Scented candles can also be used, but be careful not to overpower a meal with a strongly scented candle. Sometimes they are used in conjunction with custom engraved holders as mementos of a wedding or anniversary celebration and all of the attendees get to take one home with them. It’s quite cost effective to do this as with their small size they are competitive in cost with other remembrance items.

Votive candles can also be found in citronella and work very well to ward of mosquitoes and other insects when dining outside. They are small enough to be used at every table setting as personal insect repellant and since they are in a holder can be easily moved from location to location. Don’t let insects ruin an outdoor event; invest in citronella votive candles to make the evening pleasant for all involved at a relatively low cost to you.

They are popular and will be for sometime as new ways for using them crop up all the time and when matched with a color coordinated holder can be used in any decorating scheme.
