Have you ever noticed that magicians, or so-called magicians, always tend to use a half round table to do their card tricks? The trickster does this for two reasons: first it is because his audience can sit around him and be amazed and second because it makes him look more like a professional card dealer and it gives the trick a little authenticity. Some card tricks are pretty easy to learn, you can find information about them all over the Internet, but the best place to practice them is at your half round kitchen table at home.

Most casinos are outfitted with half round card tables so that the dealer can stand at one end while the players sit in a semi-circle around him on the other end. While the dealer can view all of the players at once the players can really only see those right next to them and this gives the dealer an advantage. The dealer can also do cool things with his cards like spread them out on the table in an arch or flip them towards each person like he’s spraying bullets. It is all part of the act and the half round table helps to keep up appearances.

If you don’t have a half round kitchen table at home to practice with you can check out some of the tables at Round Kitchen Table Ideas and see some of the ones that are available. You could pick up a half round table that is always round or, if you don’t think you want a half table sitting around at all time, you can pick up a drop leaf table.

Drop leaf round kitchen tables are great for the amateur card player because they can be a full kitchen table when you aren’t dealing cards and can drop down into the half circle shape when you are. These types of tables are perfect for hosting gambling themed parties and events at your house because you can easily convert them back and forth depending on your needs.
