If you have just purchased a new beagle puppy then you will have a long and enjoyable beagle training journey to look forward to. Although this should be a pleasant experience for both you and your beagle, it will definitely not be as easy as many people will lead you to believe. You will need patience if you want to succeed in training your beagle, but if you remain consistent and put in the time and effort you should be rewarded with well trained dog who obeys all of your commands and follows your house rules, even when you are not around to enforce them.

One of the most important beagle training tips that you can receive is to have a good solid training plan and make sure you stick to it. There will be times when the training exercises you are implementing do not seem to be working, your beagle may disobey your orders or just simply ignore you, instead choosing to do his own thing. During these times you must carry on enforcing your beagle training schedule and keeping a positive attitude, do not let your beagle feel that you have lost hope or belief in his abilities to learn.

Some other valuable beagle training tips relate to how you treat your dog during training when things are not going well. Basically, you never want to become angry with your dog or try to scare him. Even when he doesn’t seem to listen to you, becoming aggressive will not solve any of your problems. Having a dog who learns to fear you will cause future problems. Just remain focused on the positive things and use positive reinforcement to encourage good behaviour. Treats, cuddles and general nice treatment will soon show your beagle that following your instructions is the most sensible thing to be doing.
