Nature photography is very rewarding and if you want to become such a photographer, you’re in for a treat. Just think of all the photos you’ll have to be able to frame and put on your walls! The limit is yourself and how much you want to travel to find the most scenic parts of the world. That said, there are a few tips that I can give you to help you on your way to becoming a great nature photographer.
First off, it’s best to decide what type of nature photography you want to specialize in. Do you want to do mostly still landscapes, or do you want to do lots of animals? If you want to do animals, you’re going to want to buy a long telephoto lens so that you can get good images of them. If you want to do landscapes, you’re going to want a wide angle lens in order to get the entire view.
After you have your photos all taken, you’re going to want some good software on your computer to help manage the photos and do some photo editing. The best photo management software is software that can help you sort and find photos quickly without any hassle. You could look into getting either Adobe Lightroom or Apple Aperture. As for photo editing, you’ll want to get one of the version of Adobe Photoshop as that is the best photo editing software available, and is well worth the cost.
If you don’t end up liking nature photography, at least it was a good experience and you will have learned a lot about photography. There are many other types of photography out there including excellent product photography, gorgeous fashion photography, or even photo journalism. There is really an unlimited number of things that you can do with photography and the doors to the world are wide open. Enjoy yourself!
