Most people will agree that direct exposure to sunlight is harmful for the skin. It can cause skin diseases and problems like, rashes, wrinkles, warts, eczema and melanoma. However there are also problems if a person always avoids sunlight. Constant avoidance of sunlight can cause Vitamin D deficiency, which in turn can result to low blood calcidiol. This deficiency can cause impaired bone mineralization and will result in the softening of the bone.
The darkening of the skin is also one of the reasons why people choose to cower away from the warmth of the sun. Some people would like to maintain their pearly white skin and hide under the comforts of their air conditioned apartments and offices, like cave dwellers during the pre-historic time. Others are avoiding the sun hoping to turn their fair skin tone to a whiter pale skin. These are only a few reasons why people are they way they are in taking care of their skin. They tend to choose which they think will benefit them now rather than the real and true benefit that they can get.
If people are only aware of the hazards of no exposure and avoidance of the sun, they would not be in a great peril of having Vitamin D deficiency. For people who are really adamant in maintaining their complexion and for those who want to maintain their pearly white skin, there are a lot of sunscreen lotions and sunblocks in the market. They just have to make sure that the ones they are buying are reliable and efficient.
So don’t be afraid to get that streak of sunlight on your pale skin and have a good, sweaty day under the sun. Sunlight exposure is a good way to get free Vitamin D, a tan, and lots of warmth for your skin.
