Lemonade diet is a body cleanse regimen which uses lemon as the main ingredient. It is very much like a juice fast because it uses lemonade that is made from freshly squeezed lemon, maple syrup (organic), and cayenne pepper. There is also water and a tea that you drink as a laxative both in the morning and evening. The whole day you will be drinking the lemonade. Just like any other programs, when you are on the lemon detox diet there are also a list of food you cannot eat and drink.
The part wherein you only drink lemonade is the fasting phase which you do for 36 hours. After that, it will be followed by eating fresh and raw vegetables and fruits. The transition between the lemonade phase to vegetables and fruits phase is gradual. You will do this for the next 36 hours and then moving on to soup from cooked vegetables from three to five days which usually ends the process.
This kind of body cleansing rests the digestive system and cleans it, flushes out toxins in our body, and burns fat that is why you are expected to lose some weight while in this kind of regimen.
Side effects on using the lemonade diet is good-to-know information that can help you decide in choosing this as your body cleanse regimen. You may experience headache, cravings fatigue, and nausea. But these are just temporary. Though there are rare cases that these have been too much to handle and the one who is undergoing the program needs to end it early.
Since this body cleanse regimen involves a huge change in your eating habit, it is best recommended that you discuss this first with your doctor before you start. Most especially if you are taking medications or supplements that is unsafe to discontinue. You doctor needs to make sure that the change in your food intake does not affect your medications. For some, changes in blood sugar levels and blood pressure is remarkable which requires a change in dose of medications during the program.
This is a diet that needs your commitment to the program. You should follow every instruction. Failure to do so might end up putting to waste the whole regimen or worst, incurring medical problems. In the average, ten days is enough for some people. It is not advisable that you make it longer unless you are under your doctor’s supervision. You should also be sensitive on your body signs in case you need to go back eating.
If your purpose is losing weight then this is not for you. This is only a body cleanse program. Though it is expected on you that you will lose some weight; however, this diet is not something you can do more than 10 days.
