If you want to maximize the affects of the Analgesic heat rub, you should apply a bandage over the area after applying the rub. This will help keep the rub working on that specific area. This should be one of the first things that you try when suffering from joint and muscle pain.
Another thing you can try is Paracetamol. This is known for treating fevers and allergies but is also very effective for treating joint and muscle pain. Read the packaging for proper dosing amounts and make sure you pay attention to the directions so you do not over medicate.
Thirdly, you can try a honey and apple cider mixture. You are going to need two teaspoons of honey and two teaspoons of apple cider. Mix the cider and the honey with water. Once everything is fully mixed, drink it. You will not feel the results right away, but you will see the difference.
Lastly, you can try exercise and massage. A low impact massage will help with relief for joint and muscle pain. Make sure the person that is administering the massage is licensed and is familiar with how to treat injuries. You might want to seek out the services of a physical therapist for your needs.
