Choosing to get a new kitchen appliance is not always cheap. In this Zojirushi NS-LAC05 review I will outline the features of this machine that make it the most popular rice cooker in America today. Whether you think this device is cheap or not really comes down to your own perspective. It costs over $100 so in my eyes is not a low cost rice cooker but I do think that it offers great value for money. For a start, this is a Micom rice cooker. This is an essential feature to get if you want to be able to make the best quality rice. Micom means that the device is Micro Computerized, in other words, has a micro chip controller inside. This technology allows the unit to vary the length of the cooking cycle and also alter the temperature within the inner cooking pan. Both of these options help to ensure that it can make rice that tastes great.

The Zojirushi NS-LAC05 is a small rice cooker. It is a 3 cup machine. This is the smallest size you can buy. This is the perfect size for people who live alone and it is also really good for couples too. You can actually make enough rice for up to five people if you fill it to its maximum capacity. That said, if you are going to be cooking for five on a regular basis then I would suggest that a larger 5 1/2 cup rice cooker would be a better option. With the small NS-LAC05 you can actually make a single serving of rice if you wanted to. Another option is to freeze rice that you do not eat straight away. This keeps it fresh and you can microwave it quickly any time you want.

This Zojirushi rice cooker is very popular. Part of the reason for this could be that it is the cheapest stainless steel machine in their range. It looks attractive and more expensive than its $130 price tag. If you have never owned a rice cooker before then it is a great introduction to high quality appliances.
