Stackable Freezer Baskets – Advantages

Many deep chest freezers suffer from a very common problem.  Their great volume means that you can store vast quantities of food in there for years at a time – which is great; the down side is that it is exceedingly difficult to keep track of exactly what is in your deep freezer. One of the more popular approaches to reducing the chaos of contents in a deep chest freezer is through the utilization of stackable freezer baskets.

As a freezer is slowly filled up, you have no problem tracking what is where.  When you put something in a freezer you know exactly what it is.  However, a year or two down the road, problems set in.  That item you put it the freezer is still there, but you no longer have any idea what it is.

In many freezers frozen products will glade over with a white frost that makes them difficult to identify.  After owning a deep chest freezer for a while you may suddenly realize that you have dozens of mystery packages sitting deep in the bowels of the appliance.  Worst still, not anyone do you not remember what they are, but you do not have any clue as to just how long they have been sitting there.

Once your freezer starts to fill up with unknown foods of an unknown age, you will find yourself having no option but to start throwing things out.  Thus your deep freezer becomes a very efficient means of wasting money – discarding food is not cheap.

To prevent this, all chest freezers should have a set of stackable chest freezer baskets installed.  Using stackable freezer baskets to organize your food can greatly reduce your wastage.

If you organize your food by age you can be sure to defrost and eat your frozen food before they go bad.  Add in a method of separating by food type, and you will be always be able to identify the meat you want even if you cannot tell simply by looking.
