What To Consider With Wedding Videos

The wedding video is playing a more important role than ever, not only in filming the ceremony and the wedding reception afterward, but also in recording for posterity some of the people who were at the wedding. You should hire a professional videographer to do wedding videos if you can afford it, although they can be quite expensive. This is going to be a memory that you are going to want to keep for the rest of your life so you don’t want somebody who is incompetent.

Your wedding video will be a record of your happy day for you to watch and reminisce over for years to come. It is also a record that your children and grandchildren can watch. It will not only be a record of your happy day, it will also include people who may have since passed on – parents and grandparents for instance.

A professional videographer is going to cost you a lot of money. If you are on a tight budget you should consider hiring a film student from your local University. Make sure that you see some of their work beforehand though so you can judge if they are the right person for the job. The film student will be only too happy for the chance to practice and earn some money at the same time.

The next thing you need to do is to sit down with your videographer and go over exactly what it is that you want to have filmed. Because this is such an important day you should try and fit in as much as possible. You should also try and include as many “interviews” as you can with family and friends. These can be short little segments that are spread throughout the wedding video with your guests commenting on the wedding and the happy couple.
