Don’t look to hard at the specs of the laptops you are looking at. The processor, RAM, hard drive, and video card of the best laptops for college students don’t matter that much. All laptops will do a great job of being a student laptop. Spend time looking at reviews and price instead. Having the fastest laptop, but having an unreliable one isn’t a good thing. I’d rather have a middle of the road laptop that is very dependable.

Find the model laptop you want to purchase is hard enough, but now you have to find the best price on it. Luckily the internet has made that much easier which websites like pricegrabber.com that search the internet for the best price on a particular product. This saves you a lot of time instead of searching all over the internet. Local stores typically won’t be a good choice for finding the best deal however. At least in the past two years I haven’t had much luck. Places like Walmart have done a fairly good job at competing, but they still can’t beat the online retailers.

Are refurbished a deal? Buying a refurbished laptop can save you some money and you’ll still get a laptop that is just as good as a new model without paying full price. Some people however are worried about purchasing a refurbished model, thinking that it might not be as good as a brand new one and that’s simply not the case. Checking out Dell and Apple’s sites can be a great way to find refurbished laptops for students at a good price. It’s also nice to know that the actually laptop maker has gone through the laptop to make sure it’s working properly compared to a third party. If you decide to go with a used model then eBay and Craigslist will definitely give you the best results. Craigslist has the advantage of being local and letting you physically inspect and hold the laptop before giving away your hard earned money.
