Amazing Prints with the Canon Pixma ip100

The Canon Pixma iP100 is the new mobile inkjet printer from the company. It has stylish looks and more features to go with it. It even looks good enough to take on meetings and other business activities. What’s more, it sports a foldable top lid and paper tray, which makes transporting this printer easy. It measures only 12.7 x 7.2 x 2.4 inches tall, which if you have a big laptop bag, you could just put the printer alongside your portable computer.

The Canon iP100 printer truly defines what laptop printers are. To make it easier to carry around, the engineers at Canon shaved some weight from this printer, which weights at only 4.4 pounds. You will not need to haul this printer around.

While these laptop printers are very portable, it does not mean that it compromises performance for mobility. Print speeds are right where most desktop printers are capable, with text-heavy pages taking only 15 seconds to print. Text documents are clear and sharp, with only occasional blurred characters. Color prints, like its desktop counterparts, are a bit slower. An 8 x 10 photo takes over two minutes, which is quite good considering that this little printer has to render all those colors.

One slight disadvantage that it has is that its ink does not dry out instantly. When printing photos, you must be careful not to touch the surface of the paper unnecessarily to avoid smudging your prints. When it dries though, you can be sure that your prints are entirely smudge-resistant. This is due to Canon’s new ink technology, FINE (Full-photolithography Inkjet Nozzle Engineering).

Another helpful feature of the laptop printer, Canon Pixma ip100, is its PictBridge capability. With PictBridge, you can use your digital camera to print directly to the printer. Just plug in your digital camera, select the PictBridge option, find the images that you want to print, and then just press “Print”. It is that simple. It also has an integrated IrDA infrared connectivity, allowing your mobile phones and other gadgets that are compatible with the IrDA standard to print. And to complete its connectivity options, there is an optional Bluetooth kit. This really comes in handy when you are traveling and you do not have a computer within reach. All you need to do is print from your mobile phone or other Bluetooth enabled device, and the printer will deliver your prints instantly.

And to add more portability, there is a battery pack option for this printer. When fully charged, it can last up to three hours or more than 250 prints. This is more than enough to complete your printing tasks. With the battery option, you could practically take your office with you. If you work on your car a lot, there is also a Car Adapter kit, which you could plug into a standard 12-volt cigarette lighter socket.
