Camilla Skavgaard makes some suede platform wedge sandals that are right up there with bizarre. Somewhere between traction tires on military equipment and open sandal snow boots in camouflage white. If you’re confused, then go see a pair for yourself because one day they may be museum pieces or contemporary art instead of footwear. I’m not sure if they are really retro, but I think they may be called retro-futuristic.

Keeping up with Camilla in the unusual wedge shoes department is Guillaume Hinfray and the cream and white leather and cork monstrosity that looks like it weighs 1,000lbs. Imagine a large leather box with rounded edges, a small cut out for the foot, another cut out for the toes to peek out at the world and that’s what Hinfray sells for almost $700.

Givenchy isn’t far behind in the race for most unusual wedge shoes and retro platform sandal designs with the Ruched leather platform wedge in black, black and black with a concealed heel that’s massive (and impossible to conceal except by adding more black suede). And this masterpiece of massive black proportions costs almost $1,300 for those who want really huge balck feet.

If totally ugly and completely impractical qualifies to be labeled Unusual, then the Acne Platform Wedge Ankle Boot must be added to the list. It is exactly what you think it is. A shapeless grey boot that laces up to the ankles with a colossal wedge heel camouflaged under more grey leather, and it only costs $650!

Retro-modern platform wedge sandals with absolutely no shape, in fact nothing more than a chunk of something to stand on and some straps ….that is what would aptly describe the Maison Martin Margiela wedges that cost almost $400. Unusual or just ugly, you’ll have to decide.

Fish scales and orange-brown suede in a retro platform wedge sandal design by Chie Mihara….also bizarre footwear for those who dare to wear them….but at least they only cost $263. In fact anything you see from Chie Mihara or Camilla Skavgaard will be either part of some unusual wedge shoes collection too bizarre to wear or part of a wedge sandals experiment sure to end up in a future museum or art gallery!

A recent survey was just released that showed Canadians would be happy to pay a little extra to live in a Green Home. A fairly large percentage, over 70% said that they would be willing to spend more. According to TD Trust, this is the third year in a row that the survey comes back with the same results. What would the result be in your neighborhood. Is there a push to be more frugal with city water supplies? Are you one of the west coasters that already have experienced brown outs – the city’s way of telling everyone ‘change is coming’.
Over 25% of respondents tot he survey say that they have already implemented green improvements and just as many say that they are likely to do so in the near future. The changes don’t have to massive. You don’t need to implement a triple usage water system like in the now famous Earthships. A simple upgrade to your windows or even just the weather stripping and caulking can help. There are newer light bulbs that can be easily installed as well as being more energy conscious when updating your appliances. Keep in mind that these changes can be done for purely selfish reasons. They will likely have a much greater impact on your personal energy bill than have any effect on overall global climate (but it certainly won’t hurt). By upgrading something like your refrigerator you will probably lower your energy cost by about $50.00 per year. Any of your appliances that use hot water and are older than fifteen years should be looked at. Some may still be in great shape while others may be due for an upgrade. One final note. Don’t forget to unplug those small appliances when they are not in use. Even when turned off the will suck a little power.

I have seen teachers are the person who became role model of many persons in their childhood and become the point of the inspiration. What teacher teach it directly affect the whole life of the student hence teacher have a great responsibility for the future of the world that is students. We can see the stories around us for the effect of inspiration on students, if teacher punish them just see their attitude how it affects them. On the occasion of teachers day we show our gratitude towards the teachers.

I have a teacher in my early school life who introduced the teacher stamps to us by using them in our class. We didn’t take interest first but soon getting a stamp on the class notebook was the thing of pride and soon it becomes competition among the students. That competition helped us in the journey of our life. I and many of my friends still have those notebooks with the stamps on them. The idea was used in our school afterwards and helped many students like us in their journey to the success.
