Is There a Divine Mother?

People throughout the ages have pondered this question: Is there a divine mother? In the ensuing discussion, I will attempt to consider both sides of this question. Some people think that a divine mother exists because there is a divine father who is called “Our Heavenly Father” or “Our Father Which Art in Heaven” in the Bible. Since we are accustomed to a male father and a female mother, it would only stand to reason that there is a divine mother. Some claim that she is not mentioned in the Bible because God does not want her name to be taken in vain, as many of us use God’s name in vain so frequently. So, they argue that in order to help her maintain her dignity and respect, God has chosen to protect her from our ignorance. There are others who say that Mother Earth, in an ethereal way, is our divine mother.

They say that God is the father of our spirits, but that the planet earth also has a spirit, and the planet itself gives us all that we need to nourish life, as a mother would. The Mother Earth way of thinking is interesting; however, I find it difficult to see, due to the inequality of the match. It makes more sense that God is the creator of the earth which provides for our physical nourishment and that his female counterpart resides near him. It makes more sense to think that she would be equally yoked with God. Most of us have a difficult time wrapping our brains around the concept that Jesus expressed when he said “I am.” It stands to reason, to me, that he is saying “I exist.”

If we can begin to understand that he is and that we are and that God is, then we can start to grasp the concept of the way things really are. We will no longer have to rely solely on our own perception of the way things are. We can truly begin to understand how things are on a grander scale. If we can begin to see things as they are on a grander scale, we can soon begin to understand that it makes perfectly good sense that God has a female counterpart. I do not mean to seem disrespectful if I call her “Mrs. God”. However, calling her “Mrs. God” is something that we can relate with and start to get a clear picture.

When we can see that there is a possibility that we do not have all the information of things as they really are in the grand scheme of existence, we then start to realize we have a lot to learn. We can no longer lean only on our own understanding. We then seek to learn more. We begin to have a great desire to learn the truth as others see it. We want to study the great minds that have lived throughout time: Plato, Socrates, Aristotle, and all the philosophers. We want to look at religion again and glean what the prophets have recorded that they saw in their day.

We might even want to look at all world religions to see which ones might allude to the existence of a Heavenly Mother. At some point, once we have researched and studied, we might want to take things a step further. Perhaps we will feel impressed to get on our knees and actually talk to God. We may not know how. If we look at the bible, Jesus said to address God the Father in his name, the name of Jesus Christ. If we do all of this, someday we will learn the answer we seek about a divine mother!

Some people feel there is no need to have a big grand gesture. Sure they have worked long and hard, but they feel there is no reason to celebrate. However, there are some who beg to differ. There are some who think that there are many who feel as though they should have more. They worked hard and there are many who are happy that they finally get to put it all to rest.

When a person has a dream retirement party, they can start things out on the right foot. This allows them to say goodbye in a proper fashion. There are many people that might have befriended them at work or something of the sorts. It might be hard to see them go, but never the less, they should have a good way that is filled with laughs and tons of partying to say goodbye to someone that they respect.

Another thing that people find is that the retirement party gets the retiree in the right mood. There are some who find that when they think about retiring, they just do not like the idea. They have worked so much that they do not know how to part with it. With that being the case, a party puts retirement in a good light for them. Retirement does not imply that a person can no longer work or have fun. They are needed. However, they have earned this special time. That is what retirement is all about and a party sort of proves this theory.

Yet another reason to have a retirement party is well just one more reason to have a party. Those who like to entertain guests and serve hor deurs and more will find that this gives them a reason to. It is a darn good reason as well and many cannot wait for this day to come. So, while some might blow this off and say it is no big deal at all, it allows them to look back on the time that they have spent doing the job that gave them the money to allow them to save up and say farewell to a job well done. This is why someone should never opt out of having a retirement party. There is always a need to celebrate something and something like this deserves to be celebrated in style and with class. There are many ways to celebrate, but the fact is that no party at all is just not acceptable and so a plan has to be developed.

How much do you need religion? That may be a bit of a trick question, considering what religion has become in this world. When you think about things the right way, you may realize that religion is not what it used to be. A long time ago, religion was a sense of community and a sense of togetherness. Now, religion often is a reason for separation. The reason that religion is now a taboo subject is because it risks separation from the group. That is one thing that makes football much easier to talk about. When you’re talking about football, there’s not a risk of separation and opinion nearly as much as when you work with religion. Religion will get you in a lot more trouble than other things because you risk seriously pissing someone off. That is the hard thing about talking to people.

When you talk about religion, you can get your conversations in a lot of trouble. When you talk about football, the worst case scenario is that the person you’re chatting with will hate your team, and you’ll hate theirs. The extreme worst case scenario is that you will risk something like talking to someone that is completely hellbent on their team. When that happens, there are all kinds of things to figure out. When you work with things like this. When you work with things like this, you will be able to have a good conversation. That can be really interesting to figure out. When you have a conversation about religion can be really dangerous. Someone who is completely hellbent on their religion being their top religion is a bit dangerous. When you understand that, you’re up against some really interesting things. That is something to consider.

Here’s an interesting thing to consider: talking about stuff can be tricky. When you work with things the right way, you can have really good conversations about things like that. The fun thing about this is that you won’t have too many problems with getting things working when you remember that the passion is in the football game. The passion is in the football game, not in religion. Five hundred years ago, the passion was in the religion. It was Islam versus Christianity. It was something worth fighting over. Now it’s Pittsburgh Steelers against Green Bay Packers in really big Steeler games--not really big Crusade wars. That is something really interesting to think about. When you understand what people are really caring about and think “if you had something in history that was worth looking at, then this is something to pay attention to”. That is something to think about when you’re dealing with stuff like this. People like to have passions.

The custom of burning the bodies of the dead dates back to early times. The Pre-Canaanites practised it until the introduction of inhumation among them along with the civilization of the Semitic people about 2500 B.C. History reveals no trace of incineration among the Jewish people, except in bizarre circumstances of war and pestilence. It was likewise unknown, in practice at least, to the Egyptians, Phoenicians, Carthaginians; or to the inhabitants of Asia Minor the Carians, Lydians, and Phrygians. The Babylonians, according to Herodotus, embalmed their dead, and the Persians punished capitally such as tried cremation, special regulations being followed in the purification of fire so desecrated. The Greeks and Romans varied in their practice according to their views of the after life;

Genesis 38:24: Judah initially ordered his pregnant daughter-in-law to be burned to death because she was guilty of prostitution. This action would have caused the death of the woman and her twin fetuses.

Exodus 32:20: Moses destroyed the golden calf by burning it.

Leviticus 20:14: If a man marries both a woman and her mother, then all three “must be burned in the fire” (NIV). The passage is ambiguous: it is not known whether they would be burned alive, or would be stoned to death first, and their bodies burned later.
