Finding a Cheap Car Seat that Fits Your Needs and Price Range

One of the primary concerns for anybody that is expecting a child is saving as much money as possible.  Especially for new parents, there is a huge concern that one will run out of money or become financially strapped in some way, necessitating some kind of panic down the road.  This is an understandable reaction, but to be honest it is almost never even close to warranted.  If you find yourself thinking this way when it comes to cheap car seat, take a step back and really consider whether you should be sacrificing necessary features for saving a few bucks!  Of course, the answer is a resounding “no.”  So what should you be on the look out for?  Here are two features that shouldn’t be without:

The first thing that should obviously be on your mind is safety features.  The best guarantee of safety is actually not a feature but a policy:  Never buy used!  While it is tempting to take a seat for free from a family member, don’t give in.  There are too many risks with latent defects to make it worthwhile.  Furthermore, make sure that the seat you are looking for has a good warranty.  You might want to look into cheap Britax car seats for a great example of favorable warranty terms and great build quality.

The other thing you ought to look out for is LATCH hooks.  LATCH is a system that simplifies the installation of car seats by an order of magnitude, increasing the parent’s productivity and trickling that goodness down to the child’s safety.  Most cars that were made within the last ten years or so will be ready to accommodate a LATCH seat.

Remember:  While you may want to skimp on important features in favor of saving money now, this is rarely worth it, especially when it comes to the safety of your child, and less importantly your own convenience!
